Tesla has stopped issuing a software update that was set to give customers in China a one-month free trial of its RMB 64,Horror Archives000 ($8,816) Full Self-Driving (FSD) assisted driving system, Chinese blogger 胖虎Shawn said on March 23 on microblogging platform Weibo. The blogger added that it is unknown whether and when the US automaker would resume the planned deal, sparking speculation online that the company has not completed the compliance procedure initiated by the Chinese government to guide over-the-air update activities for vehicle software. The news comes a week after Tesla started providing the limited-time trial of its advanced driver assistance system in China from March 17 to April 16 to local users, provided they have a car with compatible hardware and the newest version of navigation maps.
