When NBC News reported Thursday that federal authorities wiretapped President Donald Trump's personal attorney Michael Cohen, who's been infamously involved in the Stormy Daniels scandal, it sent everyone into a tizzy.

To jog your memory, this is all in reference to a statement made by James Comey during congressional testimony in which he responded to Trump's intimation that he taped conversations between the two with the quip, "Lordy, I hope there are tapes."
Of course, hours after everyone had a chance to pat themselves on the back for bringing back the classic line, NBC's correction to the story meant all the jokes are bad (if they were ever really that good in the first place).

No one knows what was talked about on that alleged phone call between Cohen's office and the White House but that didn't stop the jokes from flowing and, frankly, I'm all for that.

Of course, now that NBC has had to walk back their story, the countdown clock for the next Trump "Fake news!" tweetstorm has been restarted.
