China approved its first batch of large language models to be made available to the general public one year ago, with ChatGPT-like services from Baidu, SenseTime, and Zhipu AI included in the initial list. Wang mentioned at China’s Internet Security Conference, which was held in early August, that a total of 564 million users have registered to use these AI-generated tools.
