While EDA software accounts for a relatively small share of the overall semiconductor industry, it is a vital part of the upstream supply chain. Chip designers and manufacturers rely on advanced EDA tools to develop and test next-generation chips. Synopsys, Cadence, and Siemens EDA together hold around 80% of the EDA market in China, the report said. At the time of writing, none of the three US companies had responded to requests for comment.
